In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Swansea United Methodist Church, located at 305 N. Church Street, Swansea, South Carolina 29160. On September 10, 2023, Ms. Sally died away peacefully at her home. She was the daughter of the late Lewis Fort Rast and Rean Fort Rast, and she was born in Swansea. She sung in the chorus at Swansea United Methodist Church, where she had been a member for her whole life. Ms. Sally was a skilled musician who played the piano and performed as a soloist. She had a degree in music from Coker College.

She had a soft spot for equines and canine companions in particular. She was a frequent competitor in horse shows and was awarded a great deal of blue ribbons for her achievements. Her “Mama Sally Cake” and pear pie were among many family members’ top choices for their favorite dishes, and she was well-known for both her savory and sweet cooking and baking. Her devoted and loving family will mourn the loss of their “Mama Sally” for a very long time.

She is survived by her son, Andy Williams, who is married to Susan; her daughters, Lisa W. Hawsey, Angela W. Eskridge, and Nancy W. Sharpe, who is married to Jimmy; her grandchildren, Trent, Kerrie, Zachary, Lauren, Kelli, Madison, Sally, Andrea, and Adam; and her great-grandchildren, Austen, Landon, Kyleigh, Ashton, Cullen, Gannon, Kenzly, and Tucker.

Malachi A. Williams, the devoted spouse she had shared for 61 years, as well as her sisters Beth Giles, Annette Brown, Mary Lewis Smith, and Kathryn Williams, all preceded her in death. Amedisys Home Health and Hospice provided Mama Sally with compassionate care and support, and the family would like to express their thanks and gratitude to the organization for doing so.
