Robert Duke Obituary, Death – In loving memory of Robert (Robbie) LaDon Duke Jr., who passed away peacefully on August 30, 2023, at the age of 49, at Flowers Hospital in Dothan, Alabama. Robbie’s journey ended after a brief but valiant battle with stage 4 colon cancer, surrounded by the warmth of his cherished loved ones. Born on January 7, 1974, in Tallahassee, Florida, he was the beloved son of LaDon and Alice Duke.
Robbie was renowned for his vibrant and outgoing spirit, a beacon of positivity that touched the lives of all who knew him. His devotion to family was unwavering, consistently offering his helping hand whenever it was needed most. In his heart, family always came first. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Milton and Vonnie Duke, and his father, Robert LaDon Duke Sr. Left to cherish his memory are his loving mother, Alice Duke; devoted sister, Kimberly Prescott; and adored daughters, Brittany Duke-Coleman (Mason Coleman) and Alexis Duke (Ben Austin).
His legacy lives on through his precious grandchildren: Alex Nichols, Alexis Coleman, Ian Coleman, Matthew Coleman, Bentley Austin, and another little blessing on the way. Robbie’s nephew, Blake Prescott, shared a special bond with his uncle. Robbie also leaves behind his significant other, Dede Drummond, who stood by his side throughout his battle, offering unwavering support and love. Additionally, he is survived by a multitude of beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins who will forever hold him in their hearts.
A memorial service in honor of Robbie’s life will take place on Friday, September 8, 2023, at 2:00 pm CT at the Peavy Funeral Home Chapel. Prior to the service, family and friends will have the opportunity to pay their respects, with visitation starting at 1:00 pm CT. Marlon Peavy of Peavy Funeral Home in Blountstown, Florida, is entrusted with the arrangements, ensuring that Robbie’s final journey is marked by the love and support of those who held him dear.
