Riley Duerstock Obituary, Death – On September 10 at around 8:10 p.m., Marshall County Central Dispatch received a 911 call regarding a serious accident that occurred in the southbound lanes of U.S. Route 31 near 11th Road. The accident resulted in multiple injuries. The collision took place close to the route in question. There was a fire that broke out in one of the vehicles that was involved, and it was unknown whether or not the people who were inside were still alive.
The first officer to arrive on the scene made the discovery that the only occupant of the fully engulfed vehicle, a black 2016 Dodge pickup truck, had been assisted out of the flaming vehicle by passersby who were passing by at the time. It has been determined that the driver in question is a man named Arturo Mendez, who lives in the city of White Pigeon in Indiana.
Two individuals who were traveling in the second vehicle, a maroon Honda passenger car that was constructed in 2013, were sent to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. When it came time for Jarrod Nichols, who had been driving the Honda, to get out of the car, he required assistance. Jarrod is an Italian native. Riley Duerstock, a local of Batesville, was the individual who was a passenger in the automobile and found themselves unable to exit the vehicle.
