Lillian Kelley Obituary, Gouldsboro, Community Mourns

Lillian Kelley Obituary, Death – On September 5, 2023, Lillian L. Kelley, age 89, of Gouldsboro, Tennessee, died away with her family by her side in a calm and serene manner. Lillian Larnerd was born on April 27, 1934, and her parents, Freeman and Stella Larnerd, both passed away before her birth.

She was the top student in her graduating class at Dupont High School, where she eventually earned her diploma. Frank M. Kelley was her husband at the time. Up to the year 1988, when they both decided to retire, the two of them jointly owned and managed Kelley’s Motor Coach Inn as well as Kelley’s Auto Museum and Gift Shop in Gouldsboro.

Before Frank passed away in 1996, he and Lillian spent their time traveling, attending events featuring antique automobiles, and hosting gatherings for family and friends. Lillian was a member of a large number of clubs and organizations, such as Healthy Eaters and the Gouldsboro Area Foundation.

It was through these venues that she met a number of close friends who would always remember her as being compassionate, thoughtful, and giving. She was a much-loved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, but above all else, she was an avid shopper who enjoyed sailing, gambling, and shopping vacations.

Lillian showed her love for each and every one of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren in a variety of distinct ways. She cared for, assisted, and cherished everyone of them. Lillian is survived by her children, daughter Janice Comes and her husband David, son Wayne Kelley and his wife Kimberly, and grandchildren Krista Howard, Janine Gebhardt and her husband Daniel, Cortney Martinez and her husband Maximo, and Brandon Kelley.

Lillian was predeceased by her husband Wayne Kelley. Her three great grandchildren, Emily Grace, Camden, and Gabriela, brought her the most happiness and love in the world. In addition, she is survived by her sister Irene Phillips and her husband Joseph, in addition to a large number of nieces and relatives. Her husband, Frank, and her sister, Shirley Pearage, passed away before her. She was the last surviving member of her family.

The Reverend Thomas M. Muldowney, who serves as the church’s pastor, will preside over the Mass of Christian Burial that will be held on Wednesday, September 13 at 10:00 am in the St. Catherine of Siena Church located at 220 Church Street in Moscow. The committal service will take place in St. Catherine’s Cemetery in Covington Twp immediately after the interment. Donations in memory of Lillian can be made to the Gouldsboro Area Foundation or the St. Catherine of Siena Church in Moscow, Pennsylvania.
