Kerri Dick Obituary, Friends And Family Bids Farewell To Kerri Dick
Kerri Dick Obituary, Death – We regret to inform you that on September 11, 2023, Kerri Dick, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away unexpectedly. Kerri and Dave were devastated to learn that she had stomach cancer back in late July. In typical Kerri form, she didn’t want people to stress and worry about her. Kerri decided to keep the information private because she was confident she would survive the cancer. It wasn’t long before they understood and learned that it was much more serious than they had ever anticipated.
Kerri was transferred to the BC Cancer Centre at the Abbotsford Hospital in the hopes that she would have enough time to inform her loved ones in a way that was comfortable for her. Unfortunately, shortly after being transferred to Abbotsford, Kerri developed pneumonia, and her condition rapidly deteriorated. Dave then got in touch with her family and friends, and for her final three days she was surrounded by adoring relatives and friends. On September 11, however, Kerri made a decision on her own and told Dave that it was time to move on to her next celebration.
Using every last bit of her strength, she insisted on stepping outside to the patio with all of her family and friends who were present after saying farewell to each member of her family one by one. Kerri made sure everyone saw she was still the Kerri we all know and loved by making jokes and laughing with them. Dave joined her in bed once she returned to her room. She was taken off her oxygen and given comfort care, and two hours later, at about 6:49 p.m. on 9/11, she died gently while sleeping in his arms.
Kerri made sure to let everyone know how wonderful her life was and how she prayed it wouldn’t be coming to an end so soon. Unfortunately, time did not allow her to enjoy a living celebration of life as she had hoped. Kerri Dick Memorial is a Facebook memorial page that we’ve made. Join us and share all of your memories and pictures of Kerri. We will post the date and venue of the Celebration of Life after it has been scheduled on the memorial page.
