Kathryn Bird Obituary, Lexington, Missouri, has passed away
Kathryn Bird Obituary, Death – On September 13, 2023, at the age of 64, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, friend, and free spirit Kathryn Jane Bird lost her battle with cancer at her home in Lexington, Missouri. She had been battling the disease for a very long time. On June 24, 1959, she entered this world in Warrensburg, Missouri. 1977 was the year that she received her diploma from Lafayette County C-1 High School.
Retail customer service was Kathy’s job at the local hardware stores where she worked throughout the day. She filled her spare time by giving her wholehearted affection to life and the people she came in contact with. Everyone who ever had the pleasure of knowing and loving Kathy will miss her very much. Beloved parents Marvin (Danny) and Helen Bird came before her in death and passed away before her.
She is survived by her companion, Darryl Darnell, of the home; two sons, Greighton (Tabitha) Short of Lake St. Louis, MO, and Graham (Amanda) Padley of Higginsville, MO; a daughter, Megan Short (Brodie Leap); six grandchildren, Regan Wood, Gabriel Short, Owen Wood, Rhett Thompson, and Kennedy Short; and one brother, Douglas (Teresa) Bird of Greenwood, MO.
On Sunday, September 17, 2023, the family will be present at the Stewart-Hoefer Funeral Home, which is located at 1600 Main St. in Higginsville, Missouri, to greet friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. On Monday, September 18, 2023, at 11:00 AM, a funeral ceremony will be place at Salem United Church of Christ, which can be found at 1500 N. Main St., Higginsville, Missouri 64037. Kendall Rinne, Roger Rinne, Jeff Shier, Jerry Shier, Owen Wood, Gabriel Short, and Chase Gilmore were selected to serve as Casket Bearers. As per Kathy’s instructions, her body will be cremated following the conclusion of the funeral service.
