John Hunkler Obituary, Death – West Chester Township is deeply saddened by the passing of Mr. John Hunkler, who departed from us yesterday. John’s roots in West Chester ran deep, as he had called this place home since the tender age of 6, and he continued to reside here for most of his life.
Throughout his remarkable journey, John exhibited an unwavering dedication to serving his fellow neighbors. John’s career in public safety services was nothing short of remarkable, spanning over half a century. His journey began at the West Chester Fire Department, where he embarked on his path as a volunteer firefighter at the remarkably young age of 18.
Later, he transitioned to the West Chester Police Department, further extending his service to the community. Additionally, John played a pivotal role as a School Resource Officer, serving Lakota Local Schools with his characteristic commitment and passion.
John’s impact on our community was immeasurable, and his memory will endure for generations to come. He was a beloved figure, cherished by many for his selflessness and dedication to making our community a better place.
