JIM TARGETT Obituary, Death – It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Jim Targett, a beloved member of the Castleford community. Jim peacefully left us on September 3, 2023, after a brief illness, surrounded by his loving family. He was 85 years old.
Jim was the devoted husband of Mary, a cherished father to Stephen and Debra, and a much-loved grandad to Lee, Luke, Kylie, Aaron, and Emma. His role as a doting great-grandad added a special warmth to his family’s life. He was also a respected father-in-law to Louise and Ian, a loved brother of Doris, and a dear brother-in-law and uncle. Jim’s presence touched the lives of many, and he will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
To celebrate Jim’s life, a funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 19th, 2023, at 11 a.m. in St. Paul’s Church, Glasshoughton, followed by burial in Whitwood Cemetery. After the service, the family invites all attendees to join them for refreshments at The Glasshoughton Sports & Social Club.
