Elizabeth Peter Obituary, 24, Mansfield MA, Woman Killed In Fiery Foxborough Crash Identified

Elizabeth Peter Obituary, Death – A fatal car accident involving two vehicles occurred on Interstate 495 in Foxborough on Tuesday evening. The victim, identified as Elizabeth Peter, 24, of Mansfield, Massachusetts, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The Massachusetts State Police were the ones who shared this information with us. According to the complaint filed by the state police, the accident occurred at approximately 5:15 p.m. and included Peter, who was driving a 2018 Ford Escape, and a guy from North Easton, who was driving a 2012 Hyundai Tucson.

Peter was behind the wheel of the Ford, while the man from North Easton navigated the highway in a Hyundai. Both drivers reportedly had serious injuries and had to be taken to the hospital after the accident, as reported by the police. Peter was unable to recover from the injuries she sustained and passed away. Additionally, state police reported that immediately following the incident, one of the automobiles took fire. This information was provided by the state police. In order to put out the fire, firefighters from both Foxborough and Plainville collaborated on the effort.

In addition, according to the police report, the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) inspected an overpass that may have been damaged as a result of the fire. The incident caused the traffic to become entirely closed in the southbound direction, with the exception of the lane that is specifically designated for breakdowns. At roughly 9:30 o’clock in the evening, the police reported that all lanes had been fully reopened to traffic.

The investigation into the crash is being carried out by the State Police-Foxboro Barracks, the Troop H Detective Unit, the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, the State Police Crime Scene Services Section, the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, and the State Police Detective Unit for Norfolk County.
