Eddie Williams Obituary, Death – Eddie Ray Williams, better known by his stage as Eddie Red, was brought into the world on January 2, 1952 in El Reno, Oklahoma. His parents were Raymond Williams and Norma Jean (Holt) Vaughan. Eddie’s funeral was held in Yukon, Oklahoma, on September 13, 2023, and he was 71 years old when he passed away. After finishing his education in El Reno and California, he enlisted in the military and served in the United States Army.
On March 4, 1971, he tied the knot with Florence Fay in the city of Reno, Nevada. After they got married, they relocated to California for a while, but then they settled down in Oklahoma. Eddie was a man of many talents: he worked in the oilfields, sang in a band, was a karaoke enthusiast, and owned and operated a bar called “Eddie Red Saloon.” In addition to his work with the Coca-Cola firm, he was a musician, songwriter, and composer of melodies.
He was employed by the City of Geary as a dog catcher, in addition to working for The Coyote Radio as a DJ. He had a soft spot for children and animals alike, and he championed the cause of the downtrodden. He served as a guardian. Eddie had made a personal commitment to follow Christ and was a part of the congregation of the First Christian Church in Geary.
Eddie’s parents, Raymond Williams and Norma Vaughan, passed away before he did. He was their only child.
First Christian Church services will be held on Monday, September 18, 2023, at 10:00 AM and will be held in Geary, Oklahoma. Reverend Richard Cox will preside over the event. Turner Funeral Home in Geary, Oklahoma was entrusted with the care of the deceased, and they were interred at Sunset Cemetery in Geary.
