Doris Leverett Obituary, Death – Following a brief battle with sickness, Mrs. Doris Ann Peacock Leverett, age 80, passed away on Tuesday (September 12, 2023) in the residence she shared with her daughter in Waycross. She was the daughter of the late John Doris “Dock” Peacock and Annie Lee Callahan Peacock, who both predeceased her. She was born in Ware County.
Since 1954, she has been a part of the congregation at Bible Heritage Church. In addition to that, she was a participant in the activities of the Peacock Family Association of the South, the Daughters of the American Revolution, and the Huxford Genealogical Society. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard K. Leverett; a grandson, David Pheil; a brother, Everett Peacock (Betty); a sister, Jeanette Raulerson; and a nephew, Terry Peacock. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her husband, Richard K. Leverett; a grandson, David Pheil; and a grandchild.
She is survived by her daughter, Valerie Leverett Pheil (James), of Waycross; her three grandchildren, Jacob Pheil of St. Marys, Destini Pheil of Waycross, and Crystal Pheil of Waycross; her two great grandchildren, Alexis Pheil and Nolan Pheil; her sister, Elaine Walker, of Valdosta; her brother, Clinton Peacock, of Waycross; her brother-in-law, Bascom Raulerson;
On Friday (September 15, 2023) at 3:30 p.m., there will be a funeral ceremony performed at the Bible Heritage Church in Waycross. After the funeral, the burial will take place at Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will be present at the Music Funeral Home on Thursday evening from five o’clock to seven o’clock to greet friends.
