David Crowther Obituary, Orlando, FL, In Loving Memory of David Crowther
David Crowther Obituary – David Crowther, formerly of Pleasantville, Pennsylvania, was born on October 12, 1946 and died on September 17, 2022. He died quietly at his cherished home in Laurel Hill, Florida, surrounded by good friend, neighbor, and carer Todd Tucker. He was the lone child of Richard Paul Crowther and Frances V. Spangler Crowther until the age of 11 when he welcomed a sister, Amy, and a brother, Joe. Dave grew up loving scouting, animals, baseball, and, of course, cars!
In high school, he tore up the basketball court, was a heartbreaker with the girls—he was homecoming king in 1964—and was an all-star baseball player pursued by the Philadelphia Phillies until drafted into the Navy. I worked as a jet mechanic and helicopter flight recorder in Vietnam and Thailand. While stationed in San Diego, California, he was involved in a tragic car accident that nearly killed him, but he was saved by prayer and God’s grace and returned to his beloved family.
Leslie Richard Crowther and Teresa Sue Crowther’s father was a proud, caring, and supporting man. Dave wanted to move in Florida since he detested winter. In 2002, he married Barbara Gates of Milton, Florida, and he was a loving and caring spouse until her death in 2015. Dave loved God, was a friend to everyone, and had a vast and kind heart that was always willing to serve in any way he could. He loved vehicles, particularly Chevys, and owned several classics during his life. He was a member of the Laurel Hill Ebenezer Baptist Church. He liked woodworking, feeding the birds, mowing his lawn, and watching western movies. He will be sorely missed by his family and everyone who knew him.
