Clarence Alcorn Obituary, Resident Of Mount Vernon, Has Sadly Passed Away
Clarence Alcorn Obituary, Death – Mr. Clarence Estill Alcorn of Mount Vernon left this world on September 9, 2023 at the St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington. He was 77 years old. In Rockcastle County, Kentucky, on October 28, 1945, he made his debut into the world as the son of Arthur and Gracie Higgins Alcorn. He was raised by his parents. He retired after a long and successful career as a telephone construction supervisor at Bell South, where he had worked for many years. In addition to this, he was actively involved in the East Bernstadt community by serving as a member of the Circle of Faith Church.
He is survived by his daughter, Ashlee Simpson, who is married to Andrew Simpson and resides in Monticello; two grandchildren, Emilee Jo Basham and Collin Denver Simpson; a step-grandson, Carson Simpson; two brothers, Darrell Alcorn and Ernest Alcorn, all of Mt. Vernon; and a sister, Bernice Northern, who resides in Scaffold Cane. He was preceded in death by his father, Darrell Alcorn. It was also discovered that a valued buddy named Jeweldean Durham was still alive.
He was preceded in death by his parents, as well as by his brothers Virgil, Ray, and Jimmy Alcorn. His siblings and parents had all left this world before he was born. Funeral services for Mr. Alcorn will be held at the Chapel of the Dowell & Martin Funeral Home on Thursday, September 14 at 1:00 PM. His passing was on September 10. The service will be presided over by Brother Jason Medley. The burial will take place at the Singleton Valley Cemetery immediately following the funeral service. On Wednesday evening, from six o’clock till eight o’clock, the family will play host to a gathering for their close friends.
