Christopher McDonald Obituary, Death – Christopher Arnold McDonald, born on December 12, 1980, in Cumberland, Maryland, left this world unexpectedly at the age of 42 on Tuesday, August 29, 2023. His untimely departure has left a void in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Chris was the beloved son of Mark McDonald and stepmother Sandy McDonald of Charles Town, West Virginia. He was lovingly raised by his father, his late grandparents John and Jacqueline McDonald, and his other mother, Betty “Mom” Hartman. In addition to his grandparents, Chris was preceded in death by his father-in-law, John Cumberledge, and Christy’s grandparents, Betty and James Huggins of Morgantown, West Virginia. His dear uncle Gregory McDonald had also passed before him.
Chris leaves behind cherished memories that will forever be held close by his loving wife, Christy McDonald of Berkeley Springs, West Virginia, with whom he shared a loving union since November 5, 2004. He is also survived by his only son, Chase McDonald of Chincoteague, Virginia, who was a source of great pride and joy. His mother-in-law, Cathy “Mom” Blaylock, and her boyfriend Andy Hawkins, as well as a stepsister, Jennifer “Nikki” McNutt of Charles Town, mourn his loss deeply.
Chris is also survived by his sister-in-law, Marcie Williams of Chico, Texas, and finds a place in the hearts of his aunt, Jennifer “Jenny” Birchem, and her husband Tony of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. His uncle James “Jimmy” Hartman, along with a host of extended family and dear friends, will hold onto cherished memories of their time together.
Though Chris’s departure from our lives is a profound loss, we take solace in the memories we shared and the love he bestowed upon us. His spirit will continue to live on in our hearts, and his memory will forever be a part of our lives.
In these challenging times, we stand together in our grief, finding strength in one another as we remember and honor the life of Christopher Arnold McDonald. May he rest in eternal peace.
