Carol Adams Obituary, Death – It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Carol Copeland Adams(1967-2023), aged 56, on August 30, 2023, in Birmingham, Alabama. She succumbed to a brief illness, surrounded by her loving family.

Carol is survived by her devoted husband, Brooks Taylor Adams, her cherished son, Noah Brooks Adams, her beloved daughter, Rebecca Claire Adams, her caring brothers, Charles William Copeland, Jr., and Carl Raimon Copeland, and her two mothers-in-law, Jo Alison Taylor and Joyce Cagle Adams. She was preceded in death by her parents, Doris Jean Huggins Copeland and Charles William Copeland, Sr.

Carol’s roots trace back to Florence, Alabama, where she grew up and later pursued her education at Birmingham-Southern College. She earned a degree in Psychology from BSC and furthered her studies in Early Childhood Education at the University of North Alabama.

For the past 13 years, Carol served as a Pre-K teacher at St. Mark’s Early Learning Center, touching the lives of 150 students. She was a beloved figure, admired by students, parents, and colleagues alike. Carol’s commitment to her craft was unparalleled, and she fondly remembered the names and faces of her first students, who would now be 17 years old.

Carol was not only an exceptional educator but also an exceptional mother, friend, and wife. Her warmth, empathy, and humor lit up every room she entered. A funeral and celebration of Carol’s life will be held at St. Mary’s on the Highlands Episcopal Church in Birmingham, Alabama, on Thursday, September 7, at 11:00 AM, followed by a reception. Carol’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of those she touched, and her legacy will continue to shine brightly.
