Brian Shanks Obituary, Death – Our dearly loved coach, Brian Shanks, passed away recently, and we have gathered here to mourn and celebrate his life. Although our hearts are heavy and we feel a profound sense of loss, we want to honor Brian’s legacy. On August 27, Coach Shanks, whose love of baseball and unflinching dedication to our children touched all of our hearts, passed away unexpectedly. Today, September 9, at noon, there will be a celebration of life held at Dauphin Way Baptist Church in honor of his legacy and the significant impact he had on our young athletes.

Our Mims players looked up to Coach Shanks not only as a coach but also as a guide, an example, and a motivator during their time with the team. His enthusiasm for baseball was only surpassed by his love for our children, and his relentless efforts to cultivate our children’s talents and character will be remembered for all of time. We ask that any Mims players who are here today to honor Coach Shanks by donning their Mims jerseys while we gather to commemorate Coach Shanks’ life.

This deed, which is uncomplicated yet profound, would be an excellent way to pay tribute to a man who cherished baseball and had faith in the capabilities of our young people.
